The Col du Colombier nestles in the foothills of the Jura, a walk starting from Le Colombier.
Once you reach the top, you will be amazed by the panorama that is offered to your eyes: The Alps with the 3 lakes region, the lake of Bourget, the lake of Annecy and the lake of Geneva.
The cross of the Colombier as well as the orientation table will easily allow you to locate yourself and to give you some information on the summits in front of you. On a clear day you can see Mont Blanc and the Vercors massif.
The site is classified as a sensitive natural area and Natura 2000, and you will be able to see the richness of the fauna and flora of this site.
Numerous circuits criss-cross the massif:
- the sioux circuit (13 km)
- the ridge circuit (10 km)
You may have the chance to see chamois walking freely in the massif if you are attentive and discreet.
